Dr Ako is the Founding President of HELPS Global Association. He is Senior Medical Director Translational Medicine for a Global Pharmaceutical company.
His leadership and scientific interests/expertise span from Global Health R&D, Pharmaceutical Drug Discovery and Development, innovations in Translational Medicine, Corporate Leadership, and Cardiovascular, Renal & Endocrinology diseases in medical practice. He is widely published in these disciplines and has been guest/invited speaker at numerous international professional meetings and policy task forces. Originally from Cameroon, Central Africa, he is acutely aware of differential attainments for researchers and healthcare professionals with similar backgrounds and the global health inequities/inequalities seen in underserved populations and ethnic minority communities globally. His conviction and motivation to redress this health (and social) imbalance led him to assemble a diverse and talented pool of like-minded colleagues to form HELPS Global Association. Committed to mentoring, Dr Ako is an engaging and passionate speaker in Global Health matters.
